NWAGMS has once again been invited to participate in the annual Gravette Day Celebration on Saturday, August 8, 2026. This is one of our outstanding community outreach events and a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for rocks, minerals, fossils, and lapidary arts with the public.
We will be setting up and operating our popular Gem Sluice. This is a fun thing to volunteer for. Seeing the kiddos find the treasures when they wash them - well, it's just a great experience! It doesn't take any experience to help with the Gem Sluice; we will show you everything you need to know.
Events like this help us connect with our community, inspire future rockhounds, and introduce people of all ages to the fun and educational aspects of collecting, lapidary, and earth sciences. Whether you can help for an hour or the entire day, your participation makes a difference.
We are looking for members to volunteers to:
- Help set up and operate the Gem Sluice
- Help with setup and cleanup
